Be The Start Of A Ripple

"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." - Mother Teresa

I felt inspired to write this post after having watched the film 'Sully: Miracle on the Hudson' and 'Darkest Hour', and after seeing the beautiful way that people came together to help each other after an unpleasant event. However, I also think that it is quite sad how many of us may see people in need every day and do nothing for it, or we may see TV ads for safe drinking water or for a crisis caused by a natural hazard, and do nothing more often than not.
Now I don't want this post to turn into a 'dig' at you reading this post, but rather an encouragement.
In a world that seems so self-absorbed and caught up in its own wants, a simple act of giving a waiter a simple tip, or a big act of leaving something like £5 at the till in a coffee shop to pay for the next person's drink, or setting up a fundraiser for in aid or an appeal you saw on TV, can cause an endless cycle of kindness.
Below is a video that I watched quite a while back, but was reminded of as I wrote this post, and I know what it is like to be the person who gives something, and then receives something in return, and can honestly say that when I experienced this ripple effect myself, it was the most beautiful thing I'd seen.
I really just want to encourage all of you reading this to watch the video, as the story is so heart-warming and try to find a way in your life to start a ripple, regardless of how simple the act may be because "a simple act of caring creates an endless ripple that comes back to you".
Love, Leah xx
