Our Paper Chain 'Tradition'

I don't really know where the idea for this post came from if I'm honest, it just sort of popped into my head out of the blue when I was thinking about Christmas in general, and it made me laugh to myself, so I thought I would share this with you.

Every year at Christmas, when we put the decorations up, we have paper chains all over the house, which is no mean feat when my families house is Victorian style so the rooms are quite big and the ceilings are higher than average ones. So in previous years my mum and I would sit in the living rooms with a stapler each and some staples between us and make massive lengths of paper chains to go round the house, which was always great fun, especially when I was secretly trying to make more than she did... However, in recent years I've ended up being the person who does it, so when we've taken all the decorations down we tried to avoid ruining the paper chains so they could be used again for the next year so I wasn't constantly making them, but 9 times out of 10, this didn't really work.
Now the reason this made me laugh to myself is that when I thought of the idea, I realised that each time I've been sat on my bed making acres of paper chains, for the past few years, I've been watching the Jim Carrey version of the Grinch whilst doing it. Meaning that without realising it I had made myself a mini Christmas tradition/ritual XD, but oh well.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post!
Happy Blogmas! Love, Leah xx
